[collection] — Frequently Asked Questions
What is an RTA cabinet? Do I have to assemble it?
RTA means ready to assemble. Cabinets ship flat-packed with hardware and instructions. Most boxes go together in about 15 minutes, and we can recommend installers if you prefer.
How are your cabinets built?
Plywood boxes with solid wood doors, plus soft-close hinges and drawer glides as standard.
How much does a full kitchen cost?
It depends on how many cabinets, the door style and the finish. Send your measurements and we prepare an itemized quote at no charge.
Can I pick up my order myself?
Yes. Our showroom and warehouse is in Anna, TX. Order first, then arrange a pickup time with our team.
Do you ship outside Texas?
Yes, we ship nationwide. Freight is quoted per order based on size and destination.
Do you offer pricing for contractors and builders?
Yes. Our trade program gives verified contractors, builders and designers trade pricing with no fee and no minimum order.
What if something arrives damaged?
Take a photo on delivery and send it to us, and we arrange a replacement for the damaged part.
Can I change my order after placing it?
Contact us as soon as you can. Orders that have not shipped yet can usually still be adjusted.
Do you offer free kitchen design?
Yes. Send your measurements and our team prepares a free 3D layout together with a quote.
Can I order a sample door first?
Yes. Order the sample for your color and check the finish in your own kitchen light before committing.
What is a Shaker cabinet door?
A five-piece door with a flat recessed center panel. Simple lines, no decorative profile.
Why is Shaker the most popular style?
It sits between traditional and modern, so it suits almost any kitchen and is easy to resell a home with.
Does Shaker collect dust in the groove?
There is a small ledge where the panel meets the frame. A wipe when you clean the fronts is enough.
Can I get Shaker in a frameless cabinet?
Yes. The door style and the box construction are separate choices, so Shaker is available both framed and frameless.
What hardware suits Shaker doors?
Bar pulls read modern, cup pulls and knobs read traditional. Both are common on Shaker.
Is Shaker more expensive than a slab door?
Usually slightly, because it is built from five pieces instead of one panel. The difference is small.
How is Slim Shaker different from Shaker?
The frame around the center panel is narrower. The look is cleaner and more contemporary, with the same construction.
Does Slim Shaker suit a small kitchen?
Yes. The thinner frame makes doors read lighter, which helps a compact kitchen feel less heavy.
Can I mix Slim Shaker with regular Shaker?
We do not recommend it in the same run. The frame widths sit side by side and the difference is noticeable.
Is Slim Shaker as strong as Shaker?
Yes. Same materials and joinery, only the visible frame width changes.
What finishes work best on Slim Shaker?
Flat and matte finishes suit it best, since the style is about clean lines rather than detail.
Does Slim Shaker cost more?
Pricing is close to standard Shaker. Ask for a quote on your specific sizes.
What is a Flat Panel or slab door?
A single flat piece with no frame and no profile. The most minimal door style we carry.
Are Flat Panel doors easier to clean?
Yes. No grooves to collect grease or dust, so a damp cloth is usually enough.
Do Flat Panel doors need handles?
Most do, though some people use push-to-open hardware for a completely handle-free look.
Does high gloss scratch easily?
Gloss shows fine marks more than matte. Clean with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive pads.
Is Flat Panel only for modern kitchens?
Mostly, yes. In a traditional kitchen it can look out of place next to trim and molding.
Can Flat Panel be framed?
It is normally frameless, which suits the seamless look. Ask us if you need a framed version.
What makes the Classic door style different?
A raised center panel with a decorative profile, giving a more traditional look than a flat Shaker door.
Which kitchens suit Classic doors?
Traditional and transitional kitchens, especially with crown molding, detailed trim or natural stone counters.
Is Classic harder to keep clean?
The profile has more edges than a Shaker door, so it takes a little more attention when you wipe the fronts.
Can I order a Classic sample door?
Yes. Sample doors let you see the profile and finish in your own light before you commit.
Is Classic available in every color?
Not every color. Classic is offered on selected lines, so check the color page or ask us for the current list.
Does Classic cost more than Shaker?
Often slightly more, because the panel is shaped rather than flat. Ask for a quote on your sizes.
Which white should I choose for my kitchen?
Bright whites suit modern kitchens. Warm and ivory whites pair better with wood floors and cream countertops.
Will white cabinets look dirty quickly?
Around the sink and stove they show marks sooner, but they also wipe clean easily. Most people find upkeep normal.
Do white cabinets go yellow over time?
Modern finishes are far more stable than older ones. Keeping them out of constant direct sun helps.
Is white a safe long-term choice?
White has stayed the most ordered cabinet color for years and is the easiest to sell a home with.
What countertop goes with white cabinets?
White quartz keeps it bright, a veined stone adds contrast, and butcher block warms it up.
Can I mix white uppers with a darker base?
Yes. White on top and a darker color below is one of the most common two-tone layouts.
Does gray work in a small kitchen?
Light grays keep it feeling open. Save charcoal tones for lower cabinets or rooms with good natural light.
Is gray still in style?
Yes, though the trend has shifted toward warmer grays and greige rather than the cool blue-grays of a decade ago.
What hardware suits gray cabinets?
Brushed nickel and matte black both work. Brass adds warmth if your gray leans cool.
Does gray hide dirt better than white?
Mid-tone grays hide everyday marks well. Very dark grays show dust instead.
Can I pair gray with wood?
Yes. Gray with natural oak is one of the most requested combinations right now.
What wall color goes with gray cabinets?
Soft whites and warm off-whites keep the room from feeling cold.
Will the wood grain match between cabinets?
Wood is natural, so grain and tone vary from door to door. We select within a range, but no two pieces are identical.
Does natural wood fade in sunlight?
Most wood shifts tone slightly over the first year, especially in direct sun. It settles and is usually seen as part of the character.
Is oak back in style?
Yes. White oak and light natural oak have returned strongly, usually in flat or slim profiles rather than heavy traditional ones.
How do I clean wood cabinets?
A damp cloth and a mild cleaner. Avoid soaking the surface and wipe dry afterward.
Can I mix wood with painted cabinets?
Yes. Wood on an island with painted perimeter cabinets is a very common layout.
Is wood veneer worse than solid wood?
Not necessarily. Veneer is more stable against warping on wide panels, while solid wood suits door frames.
Will dark wood make my kitchen feel small?
It can if the room has little natural light. Pairing dark bases with lighter uppers keeps it balanced.
Do dark cabinets show dust?
Yes, more than mid tones. A quick wipe once a week usually handles it.
What countertop works with dark wood?
Light quartz gives contrast, and warm cream tones keep the room from feeling heavy.
Is dark wood hard to resell?
Used throughout a whole kitchen it can be divisive. Many people use it on an island or lower cabinets instead.
Does dark wood scratch visibly?
Scratches show as lighter lines. Touch-up markers handle small marks well.
What lighting suits a dark wood kitchen?
Under-cabinet lighting matters more here than in a light kitchen. Plan for it early.
Do black cabinets show fingerprints?
Matte black hides marks better than gloss. On gloss, a microfiber cloth takes care of smudges quickly.
Is an all-black kitchen too much?
In most homes, yes. Black on lower cabinets or an island with lighter uppers is the usual approach.
What hardware looks best on black?
Brass and stainless both stand out well. Black-on-black reads very subtle and needs good lighting.
Does black make a kitchen look smaller?
It absorbs light, so it can. Good task lighting and a light countertop offset it.
Is black harder to keep clean?
It shows dust and water spots more than mid tones, but marks wipe off easily.
Can I combine black with wood?
Yes. Black with natural oak is one of the strongest current combinations.
Is navy a safe choice long term?
Navy has stayed popular for years and pairs well with white counters, brass and wood. Many kitchens use it on the lower cabinets only.
Should I do a whole kitchen in navy?
It works in a room with strong natural light. Otherwise navy below and white above is the safer layout.
What hardware suits navy cabinets?
Brass and gold tones are the most requested. Brushed nickel is the quieter option.
What countertop goes with navy?
White quartz is the common pairing. Warm veining keeps it from feeling cold.
Does navy show dust?
Less than black, more than mid-tone gray. Normal cleaning is enough.
Will navy date quickly?
It has held for several years now and reads more as a classic color than a trend.
What pairs well with green cabinets?
Natural wood, white quartz and black or brass hardware. Sage reads softer, deeper greens feel more formal.
Is green too bold for a kitchen?
Muted greens behave much like a neutral. Bright or saturated greens are the ones that date faster.
Should green go on uppers or lowers?
Lower cabinets most often, with white or wood above to keep the room light.
What wall color works with green cabinets?
Warm whites and soft creams. Cool gray walls can make green look dull.
Does green work in a small kitchen?
Light sage does. Deep forest tones are better in a room with good natural light.
Is green hard to resell?
Muted tones are widely liked. Very saturated greens narrow the audience.
What is behind a glass door?
Glass doors are normally used on upper cabinets to display dishes or glassware.
Can I get frosted or reeded glass?
Yes, ask us about the options. Frosted and reeded glass hide the contents while still breaking up a run of solid doors.
How many glass doors should I use?
Two to four is typical. Used across a whole wall, the kitchen can start to look cluttered.
Do glass cabinets need interior lighting?
They look much better with it. Plan for it before installation.
Is the glass easy to break?
It is tempered for cabinet use. Normal kitchen handling is not a problem.
Do I need to keep glass cabinets tidy?
Yes, the contents are on show. Many people keep matching dishware behind glass for that reason.
Can I paint unfinished cabinets myself?
Yes. Doors arrive sanded and ready for your own primer, paint or stain, so you can match any custom color.
What preparation do they need?
Light sanding, a quality primer, then two thin coats. Let each coat cure fully before handling.
Can I stain instead of paint?
Yes. Test your stain on the back of a door first, since wood species take color differently.
Are unfinished cabinets cheaper?
Usually, because the finishing step is not included. Remember to factor in your own paint and labor.
How long does finishing take?
Plan for a few days including drying time between coats, longer in humid weather.
Should I finish before or after assembly?
Finish the doors and fronts before installing. It gives a cleaner result and is easier to handle.
What is a framed cabinet?
A face frame is attached to the front of the box. It adds rigidity and gives the traditional American look.
Does the frame reduce storage?
Slightly. The opening is a little narrower than the box, so drawers are marginally smaller than frameless.
Is framed stronger than frameless?
Both are strong when well built. The face frame adds stiffness, which helps on wider cabinets.
Which door styles suit framed cabinets?
Shaker and Classic are the usual pairings, since both read traditional.
Is framed easier to install?
Many installers find it more forgiving, because the frame helps square the cabinet against an uneven wall.
Is framed cheaper?
Pricing is close. The difference comes mostly from door style and finish rather than construction.
Do frameless cabinets give more storage?
Yes. Without a face frame you get wider drawers and full access to the box, which helps in smaller kitchens.
Is frameless the same as European style?
Yes, frameless is often called European or full-access construction.
Do frameless doors sit flush?
They sit close together with narrow gaps, giving the continuous look most modern kitchens use.
Is frameless harder to install?
It is less forgiving on uneven walls, so shimming and leveling matter more.
Which door styles suit frameless?
Flat Panel and Slim Shaker are the common pairings.
Is frameless less sturdy?
No, provided the box is thick enough. Our frameless boxes are built for full-access use.
How fast can I get in-stock cabinets?
In-stock items are ready for pickup at our Anna, TX warehouse, or can ship out within a few business days.
Can I order in-stock items online?
Yes. In-stock cabinets can be added to the cart and checked out directly.
Does in stock mean every size is available?
It means that line is stocked, but individual sizes can run out. The product page shows current availability.
Can I combine in-stock and made-to-order?
Yes, though the order ships when everything is ready unless you ask us to split it.
Do in-stock cabinets cost less?
Not necessarily, but they avoid the wait that comes with a made-to-order line.
Can I see in-stock cabinets in person?
Yes. Visit the showroom in Anna, TX to see the finishes before ordering.
Why do some colors need a quote?
Those lines are built to order rather than kept in stock. Send your sizes and we come back with pricing and a lead time.
How long does a quote take?
Usually within one business day once we have your sizes or plans.
Is a quote binding?
No. It is a price and lead time for you to review, with no obligation.
What do you need from me for a quote?
A list of cabinet sizes, or a sketch or photo of the space with measurements. Our team fills in the rest.
Can I get a quote without exact measurements?
Yes, for a rough budget. Final pricing needs accurate sizes.
Does a quote include delivery?
Tell us your zip code and we include freight in the quote.
What makes the Classic door style different?
Classic doors use a raised center panel with a decorative profile, giving a more traditional look than a flat Shaker door.
Can I order a Classic door sample first?
Yes. Order the sample door for your color and see the finish in your own kitchen light before you commit.
Which white cabinet color should I choose?
Bright whites suit modern kitchens, while warm and ivory whites pair better with wood floors and cream countertops.
What is a Shaker cabinet door?
A five-piece door with a flat recessed center panel. It is the most popular style because it fits traditional and modern kitchens alike.
Do you offer free kitchen design?
Yes. Send us your measurements and our team will prepare a free 3D layout with a quote.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock cabinets are ready for pickup in Anna, TX. Custom orders get a confirmed ship window with every quote.
