Bird’s Eye Grain

Bird’s eye grain is a pattern in the grain of wood, especially maple, that resemble bird’s eyes. It looks somewhat like burl, with a difference being that there are no knots. It is not known what causes this phenomenon, and bird’s eye wood is often quite expensive.
